Default Document Names
Beginner's Guide

Below is a list of filenames you can use for your default document in directories. Default documents are shown to the browser when no document for the directory is specified, i.e., http://www.dotxtra.com/support/, which has a document in it called index.html.

If no default document is present and you target a directory in your browser, you will see an "index" listing of the directory.

     index.html

     index.htm

     default.htm

     default.html

     index.shtml

     index.cgi

     index.php3

     index.php4
